ReMIXX 6/11

We're famous for our collaborations and this ReMIXX event is no different.
We are pleased to collaborate with Newark's Economic Development arm, Brick City Development Corporation better known as BCDC.  Our gracious event hosts and community partners, the Congregation Ahavas Sholom have a beautiful gallery space centrally located in Newark's north ward with plenty of FREE parking and easily accessible to various bus lines.
The ReMIXX is our series of networking mixers that are recurring gatherings designed to invite catalytic conversations, connect LOCAL entrepreneurs, build authentic relationships and assist you in building sustainable and responsible businesses.
The evening will highlight Forward Ever's burgeoning movement and ROI, BCDC's services, as well as allow plenty of time for networking with Greater Newark entrepreneurs from all sectors ranging from retail to creative class businesses.
Light refreshments will be served.
ABOUT FORWARD EVER:
Forward Ever Sustainable Business Alliance is Greater Newark’s Independent Business Alliance, a network that connects locally-owned independent Greater Newark businesses with customers, resources, and each other.
As the FIRST urban affiliate of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies – BALLE, we amplify the voice and collective economic influence of local entrepreneurs and innovators, and advocate on behalf of local businesses at all levels of government so you can mind the store while we work to ensure your interests are represented.

Our Mission is to provide a support network for local independently-owned businesses that facilitates cooperative promotion and purchasing, rebuilds local supply chains and food systems, and leads to “Buy Local” initiatives, sustainable communities, job creation, for local, independently owned businesses in the Greater Newark Area.

Our Vision is to create dynamic collaborations that expand economic self-reliance, job creation and a sustainable local economy where local businesses are prosperous, and contribute to a healthy environment and the wealth and well-being of all citizens.

Our Goals

1. Create a strong member network for local innovators, equip them with the

resources they need to prosper, create jobs, and function in harmony with

local ecosystems.

2. Keep Dollars in the Local Economy – for every $100 spent at a locally-owned

business, $73 remains in the local economy, compared to that of a non-locally

owned business which only retains $43. We know that entrepreneurship fuels economic

innovation and prosperity, and serves as a key means for families to move

out of low wage jobs and into the middle class.

3. Increase small business visibility and foster Economic Inclusion; locally

owned businesses build strong communities by sustaining vibrant

communities, linking neighbors via economic and social relationships,

leading to strong healthy engaged communities.
